Message from hasani on 4/15 2009, 10:14 -08:00 EMail: heyhasani@gmail.com Remove "show all" optionI want to make a lookup-only search page, without the entire list of data being viewable. Is there a way to remove "ALL" from the list of options? I'm learning by the seat of my pants here..... |

Message from Alex on 8/27 2008, 03:30 +00:00 EMail: altordai@yahoo.com How to make possible entries to be not deleted by anyone?Hi, I set up a database, with the password protection included automatically in the software - just by including a "password" field with the other fields. Works fine as per only the users with their passwords can modify their own entries. But the major problem is that anyone can delete any other person's entry, because for this no password is needed! Looks to me like a major flaw in the "automatic" setup of the database. How can this be eliminated (with this the db is useless) so every user can modify AND DELETE just his own entry? Thanks, Alex |

I found a little piece of script posted in this forum a very long time ago, which disabled the delete function. But how it can be possible that people can delete just their own records if they want? This is important to be made possible for the database. Plus I would need for another kind of DB to be disallowed both functions of deleting and changing their records. Than column with the name "Action" would need to totally disappear when all the entries are output, and also from the detail outputs of any entry... --------------------------------------------------------- It's very aggravating that almost nobody looks at this forum sometimes for many days, because I can see that nobody posts any answers to some very basic (in my opinion) problems and qestions with the use of this Baseportal... Some people have put here simple questions months ago, and they never had any replies to their questions... How can the paid version of Baseportal to be trusted, if for the free version the support forum looks like this????? |

Another way is to exlude the action field: listfields=-Action,Id,andotherfieldsyoudontwanttoshow allfields=-Action,Id,andotherfieldsyoudontwanttoshow but with manipulating the url, you can delete furthermore >> It's very aggravating that almost nobody looks at this forum sometimes for many days, because I can see that nobody posts any answers to some very basic (in my opinion) problems and qestions with the use of this Baseportal... Maybe the problem is not clear? I think, most of the questions have an anwser. |
