Exam Center: Philadelphia Exam Date: 17.August.2006 Result: Waiting Weeks for Result:   My Experience: well...i did usmleworld cases..the sample cases i read twice n the practise cases just once..n then read 27 cases of firstaid..they have good pt notes...i dnt know how much this will help coz i dunno if ive passed..but all i can say is philly proctors n SPs are very very nice..u dont need to feel nervous,they help u out(the proctors) n try n do the basic stuff-knock/use ur name n pts to introduce/drape/pamhugsfoss atleast/wash hands/very very quick exam guys/counsel after summin up....this is the must do stuff...otherwise..they rnt checkin ur knowledge...its ur skills to do stuff in a given time...so time urself..if u dnt have a partner..dnt sweat..make a pillow ur partner..but when u time ur cases..keep some pauses when ur SP would b answering ur questions..as thats gonna take time too!!:)..try doin cns exam practise so u have it in ur tips..do MMse in any confususion case...try being NICE...n when u wiping ur hands after washin..make sure they r dry n not dripping!!!i had the afternoon one so just 12 of us...it was a nice experience believe me..stop thinking of it as an exam..think..this is what il do everyday..more than 12 pts..when i get my residency...so this is just a start...try n correct ur accent a bit..if not..talk to sum americans b4 the exam!!i do hope to God i pass..exam is gonna take a loooong time!! My Advice & My Errors: when they say 5 min remaining..try to b near the END of ur examination..coz more time spent on counsellin n askin if any question..the better..i didnt tell a sp for a rectal exam...so i advise u..if u know its a abdo case..just after writing pamhugsfoss on ur scrap b4 goin in..write a big R to remind u to say it..n then write C under that for counsel...ul remember then..n lastly..dnt b nervous...show the pt that u know ur stuff man!!!best of luck My Stay / Cost / Travel to Center: stayed with my brother in philly..but had to take septa n a cab to get there..cost me 10 dollars...so thats okk.
