Exam Center: Philadelphia Exam Date: 15.November.2006 Result: Passed Weeks for Result: 10 My Experience: I had to give CS early and could not get an early date, on 4th nov i found out that 15th nov was available. I picked that date. so my total study for CS was 9 days. During the exam, I did all the basics correctly. knocked, draped, washed hands, expressed empathy, counseled where necessary.. Did not get much time on physical exam and in most cases couldn't finish that properly. Patient note writing was easy in most cases. Had around 2 minutes left after finishing the note. I had all types of cases, 3 SPs were not co-operative, but i was polite and tried to gain their confidence. Had one pediatric phone case that was the easiest. My Advice & My Errors: Do not forget the basics in any case -- knock, greet, drape, express empathy, wash hands before PE, counsel if appropriate. I would suggest to counsel while taking history, because PE takes a hell lot of time and there are chances u might not have time in the end of patient encounter to counsel. I would suggest, that u always take around 1 - 1.5 min outside the door before entering, to write down PAM HUGS FOSS LIQOR AAA and think over the differential before knocking and entering the room. This will help in organizing ur thoughts for the case even before seeing the patient.. That helped me. My Stay / Cost / Travel to Center: Stayed at relative's place 30 min away from center. Took a rental car from the airport to the relatives' home and on previous day went to see the center for parking and traffic matters Name : VMT
