Exam Center: Atlanta Exam Date: 27.July.2006 Result: Waiting Weeks for Result:   My Experience: First pte was a disaster, I forgot to ask like 60% of the exam and of course I forgot to do the main physical exam. After that I calm down and then after some pts my confidence was good, back to normal. The proctors are very nice, they really help u to calm down a little bit. The lunch was very nice too, but I was so scared that the last thing I wanted to do was to eat!. My Advice & My Errors: My errors: I was sooo nervous that I forgot many things in the first few cases. After first pt, my advice is take a deeeep breath, pray and u will calm down, is just the fear of the first SP. The second is not good either but is SOOO much better than the first one. Advice: There is NO time for anything, I waste time asking stuffs that were not that important. When they say 5 min left you have to be AT LEAST on PE. Counsel while you ask, it safe time, ex: if pt say that he smokes, in THAT moment just counsel about it. Coz believe me, you will forget it or u will be run out of time, so its better to do it there and just spend 10 sec saying that. If you have time at the end just say "and remember what I told u about smoking, its not good 4 u.. bla bla" It saves time!. Also there is NO time for PN, so just get out of the room and start writing down the d/d and work up, spent like 1 min or max 2 min and then start history and PE. And dont forget to treat well the SP, show compasion for his/her situation and always smile (even if they dont do it too). BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!! The clue of the exam is... CALM DOWN AND RELAX, coz if u r scare ur brain just goes crazy and can NOT think about anything and u will forget what to ask, what to do on physical exam, to counsel, etc and do NOT forget all the protocol, hello, big smile (even if they dont reply with a smile, coz like half of them wont do it), say sorry, wash hands, help them to lay down and to sit, say thanks, nice to met u... all that! My Stay / Cost / Travel to Center: Travel by car from TN.
