Exam Center: Chicago Exam Date: 21.September.2007 Result: Passed Weeks for Result: 10 My Experience: I stayed at the Marriot O'Hare which is adjacent to the test center. Absolutely professional staff at the center, smooth. My Advice & My Errors: I studied at usmleworld which gave a very good overview of the cases. Although not identical, the cases were similar. I practiced with my wife a bit of the physical examinations. I had a hard time to practice history, etc; however, I would strongly recommend practicing each and every case with a partner to boost your confidence. I think two things are helpful: 1) to write your mnemonics on the blue paper and possible differential before entering the room; 2) have a physical examination and counseling plan for each scenario. Another thing, if you don't think you did perfect, try not to worry; I certainly did not; for example, I could not finish at least one of the cases (no time for closing the encounter) and I completely skipped hand washing in one (although once I realized this in the middle of the exam, I appologized to the patient for my oversight, stopped, washed my hands, and finished the exam). I though I could have failed for the past 10 weeks and just got my results through OASIS - I am very happy and wish luck to all of you. Chicago is definitely a good testing center!
