Exam Center: Los Angeles Exam Date: 30.June.2006 Result: Passed Weeks for Result: 6 My Experience: i was pretty nervous about the exam but it went ok. i definitely made mistakes that had me worried. i used first aid mainly & did some of the kaplan cases for almost 2 weeks..about 5-7 cases a day, timed encounters & timed patient notes. you need all the practice you can get for that. on the day of my exam i ran out of time for a couple of cases, especially the neuro one. most people were typing the notes but i wrote it out & as soon as i handed it in i would remember something that i missed writing..that happened for nearly all my cases. the patients were great, proctors were friendly & the lunch they served was ok too. i'm so grateful to God that its over. there were 5-6 imgs including myself on the day of my exam. My Advice & My Errors: dress well but comfortably. After washing my hands & before the PE for one case i used my hands to keep my hair behind the ears coz it was falling on my face & i remember the patient looked at me like i was doing something wrong...so DON'T do that. at the end for some cases i summarized & i asked if there was anything which they would like to add which i missed & 1-2 SPs told me some major things i missed. they definitely want us to pass & won't make it too hard. be nice, empathetic, humble...& of course practice with a partner till they beg you to stop.
