    Exam Date:14.December.2008
    Result:Passed

My Experience:This website helped me ALOT and I decided to write this review to inspire and encourage others! I got to the center early and I remember that I read here that on ur way to the center, u should try to relax and listen to some music. So I plugged my iPod in and I was listening to my fav songs all the way there. It was overcast and drizzling, beautiful! I used my GPS to get there. At the center, the staff was very friendly and helpful and we had Thanksgiving-like dinner with turkey and everything, very tasty! I did not eat much though, because I did not want to fill uncomfortable the next four hours. I am an old IMG (graduated 15 years ago) but for me this exam is very interesting and useful. I know that all my two-week practice will come in handy if I get a residency position because this test is all about interviewing the patient and taking a focused PE. It gave me a broad review on Peds, Psych, Surgery, Gynecology, and Int Med. If you like medicine, you will love this exam! Practice your English and your SP questions, the SP answers them promptly and u can move to the next one saving time. I did the HEENT, Card, Resp and Abd in all SP's because I read here it was good. Try to smile and shake hands with the SP, be sympathetic with his suffering, they want to see if u r human too and capable of showing sympathy for his pain. Try to advise them all if they have any co-morbidities, drug addiction, or promiscuous behavior. Practice to be comfortable with your own pace and make your questions flow. May God bless you and good luck!!!
My Advice & My Errors:I forgot my estethoscope and some basic stuff during the physical exam. (horrible!!!). Most of the cases, I'd say 90%, is covered by the First Aid. If you "black out", tell the patient that you need some time to check your notes and collect urself to move on. Practice your notes too.
My Stay / Cost / Travel to Center:Stayed in douglasville, 30 min from the center.
