| Exam Center: | Houston | Exam Date: | 21.December.2006 | Result: | Passed | Weeks for Result: | 6 | My Experience: | All the exam center staff were friendly. Exam was conducted smoothly. I was nervous for my first case which was CNS and the encounter got over when my examination was halfway through. After that all other cases went on well and I finished each case within the 15 minutes. The psychiatry cases were tricky and they really tested my data gathering and communication skills. | My Advice & My Errors: | This site has really done a great deal of help for my prep. Digital doc's mnemonics were very useful. Apart from this site, First aid and USMLE world are good enough. My advice for future exam takers would be to spend atleast two to three weeks for prep which SHOULD include practising with a partner, especially for FMGs like me. Practise as many cases and systems as possible. Perform all rituals each time you practise. You will then find the exam as another field day. DON'T underestimate this exam coz its very risky. If you don't have a partner, practice with a dummy and keep the first aid checklist for checking your performance. | My Stay / Cost / Travel to Center: | I stayed in Hampton Inn, just a few buildings away from the center. Its a decent place. I paid around $90 per night for two nights. I feel its worth it coz you need to be peaceful before this exam. I just walked to center and it took me less than five minutes to get there. | Name : | dr su |
