Abstract Charles Dickens (1812-1870) a great author lived in Victorian Age, he wrote his novels more than hundred and fifty years , but are lively entertaining and most conspicuous to the contemporary readers. Abstract Charles Dickens (1812-1870) a great author lived in Victorian Age, he wrote his novels more than hundred and fifty years , but are lively entertaining and most conspicuous to the contemporary readers. Dickens's social conscience about issues which still trouble us today, education, marriage and divorce, the legal system, the poor and the morally impoverished. His fiction has enthralled generations of readers, besides the wide range of remarkable characters that he created, the social ills are very much criticized. He became the mouthpiece of the weaker. The aim of this essay is to expose the importance of Charles Dickens in his era, he was an influential participant in social reforms of Victorian England. The essay plans also to point out the bad conditions with the reference to some situations from the novel Little Dorrit. . Dickens's social conscience about issues which still trouble us today, education, marriage and divorce, the legal system, the poor and the morally impoverished.
