Title of Paper / Poster Presentation: | Gamification – a way of creating classroom identity? |
Abstract (about 50 words): | Despite the fact that gamification can be perceived as a controversial issue, there are a number of studies which prove that learners who take part in gamified classes are more motivated and engaged in the learning process. One of the basis of computer/online games is character creation, the procedure which for many players is similar to assuming a new identity, at least during the game. The question is whether choosing/inventing and developing a new/different identity may take place in a gamified language classroom. |
